Internship

Luke Kirchner      This day was a little different, because we arrived on time, but our two 'helpers' were not there. We waited for a good 45 minutes for them to come. Lilly eventually came, from a meeting, and we got working on our next assignment.       Our task was to research a company called "Amify". This company helps third party sellers make money and themselves known on Amazon. It was very interesting. The amazon algorithms are hard to understand, so this company helps small third party sellers navigate the Amazon storefront. With recent policy changed, this is even harder on third part sellers. We researched them for the rest of the time.

Luke Kirchner                                                                                                                                                                    This time, Emory and I were tasked with reviewing quarterly reports. We had to check the data, numbers, names and other important facts. This took us a little while. After we finished correcting them, we reviewed some tear-downs that Asa had done before us.                                        ...

Luke Kirchner      We started off the day my listening in to a conference call with Mr. Moody. The people on this call were sharing new companies and possible Investment ideas. After we had a small discussion, Emory and I were tasked with making slides about customer tear-downs.      Customer tear-downs are projects where someone will go into a website, for example, and test every feature and take notes. The analysts look for things that they could improve on to make the website draw more customers in. It is a long and tedious process, but profit can be made when the website is improved.

Luke Kirchner      The first true work day of my internship, we arrived and were given an overview of VC and project we would be working on. Learning was a Venture Capital firm does and how it functions was very helpful and interesting. We were asked to fill out a form regarding what we knew and what out weaknesses and strengths were- stuff like that.       I thought learning about VC firms and that business sector was very interesting. A Venture Capital firm funds small business that show potential substantial growth down the line. This was very interesting and I learned a lot this time.
